The Conscious Cosmos: From Dusty Plasma to Living Energy Fields

We dove into the subject of plasma initially in an earlier article, The Healing Potential of Plasma Electrotherapy, which introduces plasma and its unique properties for improving health and vitality.

If that was "Plasma 101", then this article is definitely 201, as we are going to dive much deeper into the research on plasma, including the divergence of this research from mainstream science.  Exploring this next level of plasma research is going to get considerably more esoteric, as we are moving from a purely physical and materialistic understanding of plasma into realms that move beyond simple matter and into consciousness itself.

Plasma links the physical with the spiritual

A fascinating book first published in 2022, A New Science of Heaven, authored by Professor Robert Temple, explores how the new science of plasma physics is shedding light on the spiritual experience.  Temple posits that most of the universe more than 99.9% is composed of plasma with novel properties, suggesting potential self-organization and even consciousness.  Plasma is the fourth state of matter, and the other three (gas, liquid and solids) emerge out of plasma.

The movement of plasma can be observed to express behavior that mimics organic living systems.  Plasma can form itself into complex, coherent structures, including double helixes, banks of cells and crystals, filaments and junctions which could control the flow of electric currents.  It seems to move purposely and mindfully, as if it has its own form of rudimentary intelligence.

Temple describes laboratory experiments on "dusty complex plasmas", similar to plasma clusters observed in space, where charged dust grains suspended in plasma form long-lived, lattice-like structures that have the ability to adapt to disturbances and maintain order.  These clouds appear to behave similarly to a living cell, internally exchanging energy and information.  These plasma clusters seem to have some kind of awareness of their external environment.

He links this to the living organism of the human body, which may contain a subtle plasma-like component that he refers to as the plasma body, or bioplasma.  His theories reach esoteric levels as he considers that this subtle energy body could continue to live after the death of the physical body.  His description likens it to an "electromagnetic template" that may survive as a conscious entity beyond the lifespan of the physical body, which coordinates our biological functions during our physical life and carries an informational imprint of our life after our physical death.

His theories connect the purely esoteric and spiritual models that are referred to in theosophy, anthroposophy, and the ancient Hermetic traditions as the etheric and/or astral bodies, grounding them into the electromagnetic and plasma physics of modern science.  One of his main messages is that based on much available evidence, he believes that the material, physical world is not distinctly separate from the spiritual world, and there are certain phenomena that link the two... and that understanding plasma is the key.

Plasma being 99.9% of the universe, including our own bodies, and having a type of self-organized consciousness, could potentially be linked to spiritual concepts like the Akashic Records.  Ākāśa means "space" or "ether" in Sanskrit, and the Akashic Records describe a type of "cosmic memory" where every event in the universe is recorded.  Each of us, through a part of our consciousness that is aware of our connection and oneness with all of existence, has access to these records, or "collective consciousness".

Unlike mainstream science, Robert Temple's work actively seeks to integrate spiritual concepts and ancient wisdom into a scientific framework, creating a holistic worldview.

Early plasma physics discovers the collective, self-organizing behavior of plasma

Some of the pioneering work in plasma physics was done by two contemporaries in the mid 1900s, David Bohm and Winston Bostick.  They each studied plasma from different angles and using different experiments, but both learned through their studies that plasma behaves in a self-organizing manner, and as a collective, rather than random movement of individual plasma particles.  The observation that plasma can form coherent, long-lived structures has changed our understanding of the nature of this "fourth phase of matter".

Bohm discovered through his experiments that plasma behaves much differently in the presence of a magnetic field, which became a vital contribution to the generation of magnetic confinement systems for fusion.  Spending most of his early life studying the collective, holistic behavior of plasma shaped his outlook later in life, as his focus became more concerned with philosophical and spiritual matters.

Bostick also observed a fascinating interaction of plasma and magnetic fields, where plasma would self-organize into magnetically confined, dense toroidal "smoke rings" that Bostick coined as "plasmoids".

Plasmoids behave as coherent "packets" of energy and matter, and are able to travel through space as a type of entity because of their self-confined magnetic fields.  These structures were remarkably stable, compared to ordinary plasma discharges.  Bostick suggests that many cosmic occurrences, including galaxy formation, nebulae, solar flares and coronal mass ejections could be caused or fueled by plasmoids.

Bostick showed through experiments that plasma can spontaneously arrange into stable, recurring forms, seeming to select configurations that are energy efficient, suggesting the same type of "intelligent" behavior that later author Robert Temple elaborates on.

Are plasmoids integral to the therapeutic nature of Theraphi?

If you watched the fascinating and entertaining video at the top of this page, where David Khan gets a tour of Theraphi inventor Paul Harris' secret laboratory, you have been introduced to the idea that plasmoids are a part of Theraphi's healing and energizing field.

Paul Harris relates an intriguing story to David Khan, about feedback he got from a Theraphi user.  "Oh, yeah, I was in a Theraphi session, and it started running its diagnostics.  First it was scanning my body..." Paul interrupts to tell the audience that there is no "diagnostic" feature to the Theraphi.  "First I felt it go to my shoulder... oh yeah, that was an old injury there. Then it went to my knee, and I remembered the knee I busted up playing football."

These are common stories from Theraphi users, where they first perceive the field as "diagnosing" their energetic and physical state, and then moving into a "treatment" phase.  The actual components that produce the field are only doing one thing, and yet it seems that the plasma itself has an innate intelligence.  Paul calls it "consciousness assisted technology", as this "living" field also interacts with our own conscious focus and intention.

Theraphi does not just generate simple plasma particles through the plasma tube emissions.  Configuring the two plasma tubes facing each other generates a structured zero-point scalar field between the tubes, where the plasma gas transforms into self-organized plasmoids, creating a highly coherent, almost sentient healing field.

The creation and implementation of plasmoids in healing technologies is a cutting-edge, emerging science and practice.  Their energy density and coherent structure amplifies the charge that becomes available to the body, to use for healing and regeneration purposes.  Plasmoids also have much promise in the fields of energy production and environmental restoration.
